ERP implementation & migrationEOB, QAD's standard implementation methodology

A new QAD ERP implementationthat uses the standard first

From new implementations to version upgrades, migration from other ERPs at end of support, and rollouts to overseas subsidiaries

Scope

One team from assessment to stabilization

The As-Is assessment sets the scope. Orcait takes responsibility for QAD license supply, consulting, implementation and operations as one company.

Orcait applies EOB, QAD's global standard implementation methodology, adjusted to each customer and project. One company carries the work from the current-state assessment through standard process design, implementation and integration, and stabilization.

  1. Assess

Current-state assessment and standard process design

We review your current workflows, systems, data, and customer and regulatory requirements. We separate what QAD standard functions cover from what needs development or integration.

  2. Build

    Implementation and integration

We keep development to a minimum and use standard functions as far as possible. Surrounding systems such as MES, groupware and a Supplier Portal connect through REST APIs. Customer EDI connects through a specialist partner.

  3. Migrate

    Data migration and phased go-live

We migrate the data of your existing systems. Depending on the scope, we can go live in stages by module, plant or entity. The assessment sets the cutover approach.

  4. Stabilize

    Stabilization and handover to operations

We stabilize the system with integration testing and close support, then hand it over to operations. Maintenance (MA) follows.

Korea-specific requirements that the QAD standard does not cover are filled by Orcait add-on solutions and OrCore extensions. We do not modify standard programs.

EOB

We follow EOB, QAD's standard implementation methodology

EOB (Effective On-Boarding) is QAD's global standard implementation methodology. It uses industry process models and standard tools, so every project follows the same procedure.

Five phases run in sequence: Engage, Plan & Control, Design & Configure, Test & Accept, and Deploy & Evolve.

    • Phase 0EngageRisk assessment, agreement on the statement of work (SOW), handover from sales to the implementation team
    • Phase 1Plan & ControlKickoff workshop, agreement on roles and responsibilities, definition of deliverables
    • Phase 2Design & ConfigureCore model, business process workshops, data migration, team training
    • Phase 3Test & AcceptTest preparation, integration testing (CRP), load testing, acceptance
    • Phase 4Deploy & EvolveCutover plan, user training, go-live, handover to operations
  • Industry process models

Updated every year from industry best practices. They provide process maps, work instructions, test scripts and compliance checkpoints.

  • Standard tools and templates

We use standard deliverables for each phase, such as the kickoff workshop, issue log, project status report and closing report.

  • How Orcait applies it

We follow EOB and adjust it to each customer and project in a hybrid methodology. An As-Is assessment comes before EOB, so we set the scope and sequence first.

ERP implementation & migration

Upgrade, migration from other ERPs and global rollout

After implementation, the same company stays with you through operations, version upgrades and migration from other ERPs.

We roll the headquarters standard template out to overseas subsidiaries

Five steps run in sequence: core template, localization, pilot, rollout and global operations.

    • 01Core templateSet the group standard in the headquarters implementation
    • 02LocalizeApply tax law, language and local requirements
    • 03PilotValidate at a lead subsidiary
    • 04RolloutReplicate the validated template
    • 05Global operationsOne platform · automatic intercompany reconciliation · group close

We evaluate an investment on 10-year total cost of ownership (TCO), not on the initial implementation cost alone. We confirm the quote after an As-Is assessment. See the rebuild cycle and our migration approach

FAQ

Common questions before an implementation consultation

How long does an implementation take?

It depends on the modules you adopt, the number of entities and the systems to integrate. Orcait sets the scope in the As-Is assessment and then proposes a draft schedule.

When can we get a quote?

We confirm the license and implementation quote after the As-Is assessment. Before the assessment, we promise no amount and no effect.

Do we have to do a lot of customization?

QAD ships with industry best practices built in. Orcait keeps development to a minimum and uses standard functions as far as possible. We add requirements that standard functions cannot meet with OrCore extension programs, and we do not modify QAD standard programs.

Can we implement without stopping the system we use now?

Yes. With a phased cutover or parallel operation, you can move to the new system while keeping your current operations running. The assessment decides which approach fits.

Do you also take care of operations after implementation?

Yes. A maintenance (MA) service follows the implementation. We manage requests with a ticket-based SLA, and an AI help desk answers first. A dedicated consultant handles complex matters.

Can we also talk to you about a smart factory?

Yes. Orcait does not treat the smart factory as a separate business. ERP implementation, HR system implementation, MES implementation and AI transformation are all part of building a smart factory. Orcait also builds POP and MES, and WMS that runs together with ESL. The As-Is assessment decides how far to connect shop-floor equipment and MES to QAD ERP.
